What books came into your house last week? I got something new from the LibraryThing Early Reviewer program.
The Song of the Jade Lily by Kirsty Manning.
This historical novel is the story of Jewish refugees in Shanghai in WWII. It goes back and forth between the friendship between a local girl and a Jewish refugee in WWII Shanghai, and 2016, when a granddaughter returns to dig up family secrets.
Thanks for joining me for Mailbox Monday, a weekly "show & tell" blog event where participants share the books they acquired the week before. Visit the Mailbox Monday website to find links to all the participants' posts and read more about Books that Caught our Eye.
Mailbox Monday is graciously hosted by Leslie of Under My Apple Tree, Serena of Savvy Verse & Wit, and Martha of Reviews by Martha's Bookshelf.
Sounds like a good one. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteQuite a few bloggers including me have received THE SONG OF JADE LILY the past few weeks.
I hope we all enjoy the book.
Have a great week.
This is a new to me author, but I like the sound of both her books, so her name is duly added to my list. I am slowly also adding to my list of Australian authors, of which there are some amazing and very talented names.
ReplyDelete'The Song Of The Jade Lily', or simply 'The Jade Lily', depending on which edition and format you are looking at, has received some amazing ratings and reviews at Goodreads, so it looks like a big 'thumbs up' for this one!
Thanks for sharing :)

I have been seeing this one around the blogging world.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it. Happy Reading!
The Song of the Jade Lily is certainly popping up everywhere at the moment. I read this last year and loved it. Can I say I prefer the Australian cover or is that being too biased :)
