MY BOOK BEGINNING

-- The Girl from Oto by Amy Maroney. This mystery tracks the story of a 16th-century female artist from Scotland to Spain, from the Renaissance to modern times.
The second book in Maroney's Miramonde Series, Mira's Way, just came out this month.

ReplyDeleteGood opening lines which really set a scene and I was truly captivated by the amazing premise, when I checked this one out.
ReplyDeleteHowever I kinda lost interest big time when I realised that this book probably has no definitive ending, as book 2 in the 'Miramonde' series, seems to carry on the story of Mira and Zari, where it left off.
Probably not one for me, but I hope that you enjoy it and thanks for hosting BBOF

I will write the title down. I like to read about Scotland and artists. Oto? Is that a Japanese term? I seem to have Japan on my mind for many reasons. Really, I'm totally engrossed in "Dreamers of the Day" by Mary Doria Russell. The character visits Egypt and the Holy Land. She meets famous people like Winston Churchill. You've probably read her books. Almost finished it.
