THANKS FOR JOINING ME ON FRIDAYS FOR BOOK BEGINNING FUN!
Please join me every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.
EARLY BIRDS & SLOWPOKES: This weekly post goes up Thursday evening for those who like to get their posts up and linked early on. But feel free to add a link all week.
FACEBOOK: Rose City Reader has a Facebook page where I post about new and favorite books, book events, and other bookish tidbits, as well as link to blog posts. I'd love a "Like" on the page! You can go to the page here to Like it. I am happy to Like you back if you have a blog or professional Facebook page, so please leave a comment with a link and I will find you.
TWITTER, ETC: If you are on Twitter, Google+, or other social media, please post using the hash tag #BookBeginnings. I try to follow all Book Beginnings participants on whatever interweb sites you are on, so please let me know if I have missed any and I will catch up.
TIE IN: The Friday 56 hosted by Freda's Voice is a natural tie in with this event and there is a lot of cross over, so many people combine the two. The idea is to post a teaser from page 56 of the book you are reading and share a link to your post. Find details and the Linky for your Friday 56 post on Freda’s Voice.
YOUR BOOK BEGINNING
MY BOOK BEGINNING
They say home is where the heart is.
Caught Bread Handed by Ellie Alexander. That's a teasing beginning for a mystery that finds amateur sleuth and small town baker Jules Capshaw contemplating a reunion with her ex-husband.
This is the fourth book in Alexander's Bakeshop Mystery series that is proving to be a treat for fans of culinary cozies.
Sounds like it could be a lot of fun! Happy reading! :)
ReplyDeleteI have the first in this series, but I haven't read it yet. I really need to fix that.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun. I love books with baking, especially bread baking. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to start this series but it keeps getting bumped further down my TBR!
ReplyDeleteHi Gilion,
ReplyDeleteThere are so many great 'cozies' around at the moment, although this is not a genre I really read seriously, so this series probably isn't for me.
In general though, I always enjoy checking out the fantastic cover art which the genre produces and anything 'foodie' always gets my vote :)
I loved reading the chat you had with Ellie Alexander recently, she sounds so easy to get along with.
Thanks for sharing and hosting, and I hope that you enjoy the book :)

Hhmm I like the sound of the book itself but this beginning doesn't tell you a lot. I completely agree with it, but you can't really tell anything about the book from it! I'd have to keep reading a little bit to find out more! Thanks for sharing and for hosting :) I hope you have a great weekend!

I'm reading this one right now and really enjoying it! Though this series does make me hungry! Jules' food always sounds mouthwatering!
ReplyDeleteThis one is new to me. Sounds like a great story. I love the cover. Thanks so much for hosting and sharing!!! Have a great week reading!!!
ReplyDeleteI love cozies the titles always crack me up. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the punny cozy title! 'Cozy Mystery' is my absolute favorite genre (as opposed to my 'other favorite' genres, of course.) :D
ReplyDeleteCute! I love cozies!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a fun book.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read a cozy for a long time.
Have a good weekend.

Gotta laugh at that title. Cozies always have such creative puns!
