Mailbox Monday
Thanks for joining me for Mailbox Monday! MM was created by Marcia, who graciously hosted it for a long, long time, before turning it into a touring event (details here).
UPDATE: Kathy from BermudaOnion's Weblog stepped up to the plate to host in November. The link for today is here.
I found a couple of books by favorite authors at a library sale that have me wishing I could hole up for a rainy November week before the holiday rush and just read and relax. What a fantasy!

I love Anne Tyler's work. Leaving Home looks really good too.
ReplyDeleteThis month's host seems to be MIA so I've added a Mr. Linky to the bottom of my post.
Have never read Anita Brookner. I've heard her books described as "quiet."
ReplyDeleteKathy -- Thanks for taking over. I'll edit my post and come over with my link.
ReplyDeleteTN: I'd describe them as quiet but powerful. They feel very authentic.
I'm an Anne Tyler fan but I haven't read this one. Enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteYou made some excellent purchases. I especially like the sounds of the Rolling Stone essays (I used to read it cover to cover in the 80's) and Ann Tyler is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
I like the looks of Leaving Home.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy all of them.

Oooo. Good stuff there. Happy reading! Maybe you'll get a rainy November weekend with no other commitments so you can just hole up with all of them and enjoy.
