Charles Dickens may be the best-known novelist of all times. Probably everyone has read at least one of his books or at the very least seen a screen adaptation. He lived from 1812 to 1870 and published 20 novels, as well as short stories, a few plays, non-fiction books, and even some poetry.
I read several of Dickens' more famous novels by the time I finished college, but have been in the mood to read the rest and start re-reading ever since I got a lovely matching set a couple of years ago.
Dickens' novels are listed below. Those I have read are in red (although I may like to re-read some of them); those on my TBR shelf are in blue.

I've always wanted to read more of Dickens, every time I read something he wrote I'm reminded of what a wonderful writer he was. Also, I might recommend Wilkie Collins who writes much in the same style (and was a good friend of Dickens').

I've had a couple of WilKie Collins books on my TBR shelf for years. Every time I'm in the mood to read one, I decide on Dickens instead. :)
ReplyDeleteI have such problems with reading Dickens sometimes, as if there is something inside me that doesn't want me too. But I have decided to force myself to read his books, half of which I own without reading them XD

I have a love/not-so-impressed relationship with Dickens, but I would love a matched set for those times when I need a good dose of Dickens.
ReplyDeleteDavid Copperfield is one of my favorite novels, and is definitely do for reread.
I was about to say "Nuh uh! I haven't!" But then I remembered that I've seen many adaptations of A Christmas Carol, so I guess you're right. :P
