Mailbox Monday
Thanks for joining me for Mailbox Monday! MM was created by Marcia at A girl and her books (fka The Printed Page), who graciously hosted it for a long, long time, before turning it into a touring meme (details here)
Diary of an Eccentric is hosting in March. Please stop by her terrific blog to see what this "eccentric bookworm" is reading lately.
Thanks to a recent visit to Booktique, a wonderful Friends of the library bookstore in Lake Oswego, a stack of "County House" books came into my city house last week:
The English Country House: An Art and a Way of Life by Olive Cook
Life in the English Country House: A Social and Architectural History by Mr. Mark Girouard
A Country House Companion by Mark Girouard
Althorp: The Story of an English House by Charles Spencer
The English Country Town by Anthony Quiney and Robin Morrison
Now all I need is a huge pot of tea and a fire in the fireplace.

Wouldn't it be nice to see these houses in person and up close! Nice set of books.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to spend some time perusing those books. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThose sound wonderful! Happy reading and tea drinking!
ReplyDeleteHarvee: No kidding! I'd love to visit in person.
ReplyDeleteAnna: They are fun. And go with a stack of old "Country Life" magazines I have that I flip through sometimes.
Kaye: Thanks! It is so cold and blustery here in Portland, I wish I could take a "bon bon" day today!
The covers of your books make me want to hope on the next flight to the UK.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
These all look like such lovely books! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet these are really great. Lots of photos, I hope!
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by the Althorp book. I'm a huge Princess Diana fan!
