Teaser Tuesday: A Study in Scarlet

"He was more than six feet high, was in the prime of life, had small feet for his height, wore coarse, square-toed boots and smoked a Trichinopoly cigar. He came here with his victim in a four-wheeled cab, which was drawn by a horse with three old shoes and one new one on his off fore leg."

-- A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.  An example of Sherlock Holmes's remarkable deductive powers.

I started reading this as my first e-book, using the kindle app I put on my iPhone.  But I had such an adorable little Peebles Classic Library edition on my shelf, that soon I found myself with the book in my hands, tearing through the pages.

Teaser Tuesdays is hosted by Should Be Reading, where you can find the official rules for this weekly event.

  1. I love this quote. It's been a long time since I've read Arthur Conan Doyle but he hasn't lost his cleverness.

By the way, I like the picture on your header. With the city in the foreground and woods and the mountain in the background, it looks like the best of all worlds.

  4. Congratulations on building such a fun and informative blog! I found it interesting to learn you are a lawyer. I attended Gonzaga School of Law but only for a year. (Doubted my decision about wanting to be an attorney after I started to realize exactly how much tedious left-brained paperwork was going to be involved.)

I'd love to chat about emailing you some R&R (See image for Ravena & The Resurrected: http://suntigermojo.com/art/cartoons/customer-w-book.jpg)
