Opening Sentence of the Day: The Guernsey Literary and Potatoe Peael Pie Society
"Dear Sydney,
Susan Scott is a wonder."
-- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows.
This has been waiting for me for over a year and I am so excited to finally turn my attention to it.
I was immediately sucked into this epistolary novel set in post-WWII England, including the Channel Island of Guernsey, which had been occupied by Germans during the war.

ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI too greatly enjoyed this book. YAY for epistolary novels. I know it copped a bit of flack as "not being literary enough", but it was a lovely book to read, and would make a perfect Christmas read I think,
ReplyDeleteMy copy is waiting for me too! I just moved it around in the pile again last night.
