Nobody ever called the Clackamas "old man river."
Another Way the River Has: Taut True Tales from the Northwest by Robin Cody (published by OSU Press).
Cody is best-known for his novel Ricochet River, a coming-of-age story set in a small Oregon lumber town in the 1960s. This is a collection of his nonfiction, including several pieces not published before.
It's true! The Clack just never gets languid enough to feel like Old Man River.
ReplyDeleteHe goes on to say that the Clackamas is a "young rascal . . . full of mischief and rebellion." I think I am going to like this book.
