I cannot believe that I am only now reading this book. I got the audiobook from the library -- all 35 discs of it -- and never want to stop listening to it. So far, the hero has only repayed his friends. He is about to start seeking revenge against his enemies.
This is like the story from which all adventure stories came from. It has everything in it.

Great to hear you are enjoying The Count of Monte Cristo. I'm yet to read it myself. I loved The Three Musketeers when I read it, but somehow have never gotten into The Count...

I've never read this one either (embarrassing), although I've seen several movies made from it (even more embarrassing). Great story. But 35 discs is an awful lot of listening!

ReplyDeleteI'm trying to remember if I actually read the Count of Monte Cristo, or just think I read it because I've read other Dumas novels and eat Monte Cristo sandwiches whenever I can.
