Mailbox Memorial Day

If I hadn't done a quick swing past the dollar shelf at Powell's, I wouldn't have had anything to show for Mailbox Monday! Lucky for me, Powell's is only a short, rainy walk from my office.

Dolly by Anita Brookner (continuing on my habit of collecting, but not often reading, Brookner's novels)

Grand Cru by Barney Leason (continuing my streak of wine-related books)

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

  1. I love the cover illustration on your copy of Dolly - her face is so expressive and it really makes me want to read the book!

    Happy Monday evening

  2. I love Powell's. It's one of my favorite places on the planet.

  3. Hannah -- So true! The description says it is about a glamorous aunt who sweeps in with "her perfumed mink and bored laugh." I love that image!

Caitlin -- I am spoiled to have Powell's on my noon walk route!

  6. Jennisfer and Lady Q -- Thanks for stopping by! Brookner really is a favorite of mine, although I have only read two of her many novels. The other one is a total mystery to me too.
