I've been so busy getting ready for a trial that I don't think I would even notice if something came to my mailbox. But I have a short list for
Mailbox Monday because I took a head-clearing break from drafting pleadings to walk to Powell's last Friday.
I must have been thinking of food (or maybe a different career) because I got these two books:
A Cordiall Water: A Garland of Odd and Old Receipts to Assuage the Ills of Man and Beast by M. F. K. Fisher
That's the cover on the copy I bought. It's very pleasant, but I would love to find an old edition with this cover:
Epicurean Delight: The Life and Times of James Beard by Evan Jones
I really enjoy different covers on books. I have several copies of some books for the different covers.
ReplyDeleteThe different covers are so interesting! Very different!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the older cover makes it stand out. Is is bad luck to wish you luck with your trial?
ReplyDeleteSheila -- I like seeing how covers change with the decades. The trends are fun to track.
ReplyDeleteBeth -- I love the bunny with a cocktail glass. I wonder if I can figure out a way to use that image for an Easter card? I am going to try.
Gwen -- It is not bad luck, so thank you! The trial doesn't start until the 15th, but it is a big case and there is a lot to get ready for.
