The Last Chinese Chef by Nicole Mones
According to the back cover, this is a novel about "the hidden world of elite cuisine in modern China." I am reading this as
my fiction choice for the
Spice of Life challenge. I am particularly looking forward to it because I have been jonesing for good Chinese food lately -- one of the things I miss the most now that I don't live in San Francisco any more.
.
I know what you mean about the Chinese food! We used to eat regularly at a place in SF called Mr. Piks, on the way into the presidio. I haven't eaten that good in a long time! Love your blog and posted a link to it on my Facebook page today!
ReplyDeleteMr. Piks??? Hmmmmmm . . . I don't think I ever went there. I'll file that one away for future trips.
ReplyDeleteI had several favorites, including Shanghai Dumpling King out on Balboa, Tong Kiang for dim sum, and Yuet Lee in Chinatown. And all the take home dim sum places on Clement.
My tummy is growling just thinking about it.
