Burke knows how to capture the reader's attention from the get go. This is the 15th book in Burke's Dave Robicheau series. I go on and off the series, but I am on it now. This one is very good so far -- exciting and, as always, marvelously written, but not too creepy and not so full of self-righteous sermonizing as some of them.

I do love the Robicheaux myself. The guy does stuff that would get him at best beaten and at worst killed in nearly every book, but the writing is so good, I don't care. I am about half way through but I won't stop til I am done.

ReplyDeleteTripp -- I'm reading them all too. And, yes, I always wonder how D.R. manages to stay alive so long. He must be about 70 by now and he's out there beating people up -- and being beaten up -- like a teenager. He's as tough as that ancient, three-legged raccoon of his!
