Part of the "Noir" series published by Akashic Books, this one caught my eye on
Reading Local and I had to get it. I can't wait to read about the "dark, rainy underbelly" of the Rose City.
The Twin by Gerbrand Bakker, translated from Dutch by David Colmer
This was my second shipment from the
Powell's Books "Indiespensable" program. The Indiespensable version is a limited edition with a different cover signed and numbered by the author. Pretty cool.
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
Stein is a Pacific Northwest author. This book is narrated by a dog. Approximately three zillion people have given it five-star reviews on amazon. Who am I to resist?

I may have to read Racing in the Rain on the strength of the reviews. I'll be interested to see what you think.

Translated from the Dutch... Sounds quite interesting. I don't believe I've read very much Dutch literature. What's it about?

ReplyDeleteAs for the Dutch book, I don't know yet. It seems to be about two old farmers, father (ancient) and son (just old). We'll see.
They all look like interesting books!
